Alan 100 free
Eric and Alan cheering... (Check out them legs... abs... shoulders... goodness sakes they're ripped!!)
Eric's 100 butterfly... he's got a beautiful stroke!I am attacking another week of random thoughts and simple pleasures. So hopefully last week wasn't too boring to read!
Monday: There is an unusual amount of joy in good weather. In fact today's weather was beyond perfect. We spent 80% of the day outside enjoying the incredible sunshine and perfect cool breeze.
I was reminded of the childhood joy in the little things. Dandelions; to an adult they're a pesky weed but to a two year old they're beautiful flowers that you're allowed to pick!
Tuesday: Well it was a fun day. Tried taking the girls to the farm but it was just my luck that we made the hour drive there only to discover it wasn't open on Tuesdays. Oh well Eliza had a blast at the park instead!
Also went to the boys swim meet. It's Eliza's new favorite thing. She cheers and "whoot"s "GO NALAN GO EWIC GO!" (Alan and Eric). She even cheered for them when they weren't swimming... and in the middle of diving... timing is everything!

Wednesday: You know what's really fun? Kidnapping your sisters from school (in the middle of class) to go have lunch at a park. Naughty of me but they've been so busy that we haven't seen them in weeks. That and I did try to do it during their lunch hour but we were misinformed on their lunch hour. Oh well it was still fun!
Thunderstorms; as a child they are the unknown fear, a teen could care less (there are far more important things right?), and as an adult they come with a fascinating sense of calm and peace.
Thursday: Rain, and lots of it. (no comments from Jaron about our misguided perception of lots of rain) Eliza is going through park withdrawl. I was even a cool mom and let her run around in the puddles for a little while, yet she STILL wanted to go to the park.
We learned that sidewalk chalk writes much better when wet... but it runs out faster too.
Alayna officially sits up by herself. She's not even 6 months old yet! She is such a strong baby! She can't get herself into the seated position but once placed there she's good to go! And it makes her so excited that she can be more involved with Eliza's play. They played catch today... Alayna took a ball in the face and that was the end of catch.
Friday: Where did the slushy mush stuff come from... the rain snow combo has made for a very grumpy day today. On the plus side I did send Eliza out to play in the rain for a little bit while it was warmer this morning. She got cold really quick but seemed to enjoy being outside in the wetness!
Saturday: I think we may have had too much fun today. I'm far too tired to give any fun details in entertaining ways... But as a run down... we went shopping with Daddy. Then he went to the Rockies game that was postponed last night due to weather. I took the girls and went and watched Heather and Heidi's play at school (they're on the backstage crew).
In big news I gave Alayna a graham cracker for the first time to see what would happen... the first one she took her time on but the one following was gone in a matter of moments. So it appears that she doesn't have a food problem but a texture problem. I guess we'll have to see what to do about that as we go.
Sunday: Eliza finally got her nursery time... and to top it off the lucky duck got cupcakes in nursery today too!
I took a much needed nap that felt like it ended WAY too soon. Other than that nothing too special happened today.
