Temps from 98.6 - 103.7

It's been a week! The beginning of the week was relativly uneventful....

Monday we did put the boat on the water as is tradition. But there was NO sun, and the water was a whole 58 degrees (brr!) so we opted out of actually getting into the water and doing any wakeboarding. That evening we had the new missionaries for our ward (new being really new; they just got in that morning and it's the first time we haven't had to share our Elders with the other ward!!) and Ben's parents over for dinner! It was a fantastic dinner thanks to Ben's hard work in the kitchen!!

Tuesday Ben went back to work... Eliza and I ran some errands here and there. I called the dentist and begged them to fit me into the schedule asap!! The filling from last week was too tall and it was making the tooth and my jaw horribly sore. SO..

Wednesday I dropped Eliza off at grandma Merritt's house and went to the dentist. He did a fantatstic job of fixing my mouth and was ever so generous to squeeze in the last filling I needed done instead of making me come back!

Thurday Aunt Abby came into town! Her and Grandma Merritt came and hung out at the park with Eliza and I for an hour or so... That afternoon Eliza decided it was time to be sick... So she started running a fever of 101.2 (please note that her normal body temp is only 96.8). So one long nap later and a large ammount of Advil we got her temp down but she still was too sick to eat or stay awake past 6 that night.

Friday morning... I was hoping Eliza would feel better so we could go to Loveland and do some garage saleing but that isn't how it went. She woke up at 6:30 with a temp of 102.6, I druged her and she went back to sleep. I got her up at 8 to take a bath to cool her down some more. And spent the rest of the day monitoring 'Liza's temp, watching cartoons, and coaxing her to eat and drink.

Saturday was suppose to be better... Eliza determined it wouldn't be that way, when she woke up with a temp of 103.7. So again we spent the day at home. Ben went wakeboarding with his family all morning and I hung out with Eliza doing the same thing as the day before.

Today (sunday) Eliza woke up with a temp of only 100.2!! and with the help of meds we have gotten her temp back to normal for the first time in 3 days! So she seems to be making a recovery. But due to the fact that we have some very new babies in the ward and this was suppose to be Eliza's first week in nursery we decided it was not in anyones best interest to take Eliza to church. So I went to an incredible Sacrament meeting and Ben went to primary. It was really great to get out of the house. As of now I'm really looking forward to getting Eliza into the Dr tomorrow for her 18mo appt. to hopefully get some explination to the funny rash/ bites/ who knows what the crap those little red spots are all over her!

So that is the week we've had and we're looking forward to the next week being a hopefully healthy one!

AND for a little fun; Here are some pictures for everyone to take their guess as "dr" and tell me what you think her funny little spots all over are... I'm really curious so share your wealth of knowledge!

This is the healing ones... all over her tummyThis is what they look like fresh... don't mind the line from her diaper.

Appointments and Ice Cream!

It's been an eventful week to say the least. Ben and I both had appointments with the dentist to get some cavities filled. Those appoitments went as well as they could, we've both been a little sore from it all but at least our mouths are healthy right? Wednesday the cub scouts in our ward had a fundraiser at Wendy's so we went out to dinner there that night and it ended up being more of a ward party than anything else but it sure was fun!
I spent Thursday and Friday at my mom's house. Thursday was full of shopping and getting more of the most adorable cloths for Eliza to grow into later (Thanks to Melissa for letting me go through them first!) Thursday night I got a massage from a friend of mine and it was fantastic! We had the time to chat for a little while and my back felt better than it has in weeks! Plus I slept great that night which was a great change of pace from the past few weeks. Lindsay and Mike showed up that evening for their weekend stay. We haven't really seen much of them seeing as how they are very busy installing a sprikler system for a friend. But it's been nice to have a reason to keep my house clean (thanks!).
Friday I watched Eliza and Kara at my mom's house while she went out for a nice celebration lunch with her friends. We all had a good time... well Kara kinda didn't because she was totally exhausted and nothing I tried could get her to go to sleep, but mom eventually came home and worked her magic and she went to sleep!
Saturday Ben, Eliza, and I all just hung around the house. Ben got to mow the law for the first time and he was pretty excited about that! Eliza played in and out of the house most of the morning. We ran a few errands, I baked, and Ben made homemade icecream (yummy!). So that was our week/ weekend....

Oh and on a side note: I have to brag a little, Mom printed a picture of Kara for her mom to display with some signs at their garage sale and in the two days the sale ran Melissa got at least 4 offers of people who wanted to buy the photograph! So I'm not so bad at this after all...lol

And then came the Grass!

This week was pretty mellow. Eliza has been picking up on some more words and even more sign language (funny cuz I don't really use it that much) But non the less she is very good at asking for "more" saying "please" and "thank you". It is funny though because sometimes she confuses "all done" and "more" then gets irritated at you for not giving her what she wanted! She has also become a little monkey! Her favorite things to climb are mommy and daddy which would be fine if she was just a little more gentle! LoL.

Funny stories of the week...
I had a very "pregnant" Tuesday and my mom ended up coming over to rescue me from myself (thankfully!) the nicest part was that by the time my hormones slowed down a little mom got my head screwed back on and kept Eliza from making my freshly cleaned house into what looks like the remains from a hurricaine.
Everything else in the week was pretty normal. Lots of cleaning, dishes, laundry, and some tears from a very opinionated 1 yr old.

Friday we got our sod delivered and Ben went right to work laying it all out. So I offically have a beautiful, green, grassy lawn! Ben on the other hand has a really really sore back. Not that he isn't proud of his incredible lawn he's just pretty wore out and even a little excited to get out the lawn mower and mow the lawn for the first time! (don't worry he wont until it actually takes...)
So that's the week, Here are some pics:

My beautiful green lawn! NO MORE DIRT!!! (well except the garden)

Eliza looks so pretty for Sunday!

This was too funny! Eliza got herself stuck in the toy box like this and that is her "uh oh" face before she started crying for mommy to PLEASE get her out. It was too funny to not take a picture of her!

Yard Progress!!

So Ben has been a slave to the yard for the last few weeks but the results have been amazing! We'll be getting sod this weekend so I'll post some final after pictures later... But for now here is where we started and where we're at now!

BEFORE

BEFORE...CURRENT (the back area will be a garden)

CURRENT (from the porch)
I'm so excited to have grass for Eliza to play on! She may miss the time to dig in the dirt, but we'll just have to let her garden with Daddy from now on :-)

New Furniture!!

Ok so I didn't post last week and honestly I can't really relay everything that happened because these day's I'm doing good to just remember what happened a few hours ago.

What I do remember: Saturday of last week Aunt Mallory and Uncle Evan were here for a short visit and after they watched Eliza so I could take pictures in the freezing cold that morning. Then we went to the Aqarium in Denver which was a BLAST! The only bad thing was taking the wrong exit and driving around until we gave up and went to start over and while making a turn some kid rear ended me. Lucky for us no damage was done to the car and other than a kinda sore neck we were all just fine. So overall it was a good weekend.

So this week...

Wednesday I got to go to the temple with the youth to help with Baptisms and that was an awesome experience! We really do have some incredible Youth within the church and my ward is no exception to that! I was lucky too that I didn't even have to drive there in all the yucky traffic so that made my day!

Thursday Ben had an interview for a possible promotion and he said it went really well, we're very excited about the possibility of this happening but we may not know anything about it for a long time. So for now we're just holding our breath and hoping that it pulls through for us!

Friday was Ben's Birthday!!! He's 29!! (What an old man hehehe:-) He says he had a good day at work, I baked his favorite cake and we got to go to dinner (Outback of course) and a movie (the new X-Men) and it was all fantastic! The movie was suprisingly good in my opinion, it answered lots of questions about how Wolverine came to be which was cool.

Saturday Ben got up really early and went with his dad to Granby to pick up some furniture, including Eliza's new Bunkbed!!! Wahoo!! I spent the whole morning getting the upstairs clean enough to put new furniture in and move some old stuff around. Eliza wasn't much help for any of the cleaning, in fact she was far from helpful. I love her dearly but I was about ready to kill her when I had finally gotten her room clean and I came back 1-2min (literally) later and she had emptied nearly the entire bookshelf all over her floor. We both survived the whole ordeal, and Ben came home with more than I expected! We put a loveseat in our room, the bunkbed's we didn't think came appart to use as seperate beds DO so we only set up the twin in Eliza's room, a whole new sound system with 4 new 'Bose' speakers which are incredible!!, some tables for the dvd's and other suff, and some tv dinner tables.... All for free!
I just love free stuff and it makes me so excited when it's all set up and useable! We do think we're going to have to put a stool by Eliza's bed so she can get up by herself but she likes it none the less!
We went to dinner with lots of Merritt/Hutchin's family at the rib house that night as well which was great! Eliza had fried mac-n-cheese and everyone else had yummy ribs!
